The Meth Lab

New bands are formed everyday. While a lot of them are crap, and a few are mediocre, a handful of them actually will spark something in me that makes me want to tell their story.I will talk about the creme de la creme of unsigned and newly signed bands here, and we'll wait and see if their careers take off!

Who Are They? Picture Me Broken

Emerald Hills, California

Sounds Like: Paramore, Flyleaf, VersaEmerge

What's Their Deal? Picture Me Broken started out like most bands do...covering other bands. But after nearly winning two major competitions and opening for the Doobie Brothers at the Shorline in Mountain View, California and Linkin Park Projekt Revolution, PMB decided to start making their own Music.

Why Should I Listen To Them? Picture Me Broken are the hailing post hardcore band in the Bay Area. They are already gaining nation wide recognition, winning MTV's Best Breakout Bay Area Artist. The music scene is very bland right now as far as diversity goes, and PMB makes for a nice change. This time next year they'll be the 'it' band, with lead singer Brooklyn Allman's powerhouse vocals and all. I wouldn't be surprised if they're not instantly compared to those of Paramore's Hayley Williams (which is about the only thing they have in common). Jump on the bandwagon now, 'cause by next year all these scene kids will be riding their coattails!

Who Are They? He Is We

Auburn, Washington

Sounds Like: Death Cab For Cutie, Feist, Katy Perry

What's Their Deal? He Is We is already making a name for themselves in the Pure Volume world. They were recently named the top unsigned band of 2009. Lead singer, Rachel finds the center between belting and sweetly seranading listeners with her powerful yet very melodic voice, while guitrist, Trevor, soothes your ears with his flawless guitar and piano playing. The Chemistry between the two is palpable and it manifests itself in every song.

Why Should I Listen To Them? He Is We is just one of those "it" bands (and not one of those "it bands" for the moment that we'll forget about in a few months). These kids have talent and it exudes. When they snag their record deal, which will definitely be sometime soon, they'll be here to stay. We should all brace ourselves for their take over of the music world, and be so lucky to have the pleasure of listening to them.

Who Are They? The Hit

 Dallas,Texas

Sounds Like: The Maine, All Time Low, Forever the Sickest Kids

What's Their Deal? This pop- punk quartet has been through a few line up changes in their short time as a band, recruiting Metro Station's first keyboardist and loosing a couple of members all within the same year. After finally getting their line up straight, they were able to focus on their music. Kade, Colin, Jorge, and Mike worked with Geoff Rockwell (Forever the Sickest Kids, Artist Vs. Poet, School Boy Humor) to produce thier first EP, But That's Just Me (March 10, 2009).

Why Should I Listent to Them? The Hit are already well on their way to the top. They've already completed two U.S. tours, one of which they did without a record deal. They've played with various  popular bands, such as Boys Like Girls, The Maine, All Time Low, and We The Kings. Even before then, they were getting major recognition, which landed them a top spot on Pure Volume's top 21 unsigned bands of 2008. At the rate these boys are going, this time next year they'll be unstoppable.
